ABOUT ME

Travel is deeply rooted in my being.  My relative (on my maternal side) was Josiah Perkins Cressy Jr., the Captain of the Donald McKay built Clipper Ship the FLYING CLOUD.  This vessel under the navigational skills of his wife Eleanor set a world speed record for New York to San Francisco sailing around Cape Horn.  Ever since then, all of my Cressy relatives have worked on or around the sea.  I fly over it as often as I can.

True American in every way, my Grandfather (on my Father's side) arrived into Boston Harbor from Italy in the early 1900's. En route, so the story goes, he met my red headed Yiddish speaking Grandmother who had started out from Kiev.  Together they raised a family of amazing people and stellar cooks!

Today, my Father lives in Torino Italy with his wife who is a linguist.  My older sister when not working in Afghanistan or The Congo, lives in Brighton England, my younger sister sails her Bristol 35.5 frequently.  My brother can't stay on land and has his own boat business.  I have a niece who is currently sailing in the South Seas, and a nephew married and living in Japan.  My children are in California, Vermont and Israel.  The rest of the family is in Canada, and in Hungary. 

I am proud of my history of courageous travelers.  Here I am; curious, energetic, excited, keenly observant, and unafraid, cooking and photographing everything that comes my way, traveling as far and as wide as I can.
